Royal Lowness

Dear Mr. Costner,
As you may recall, back in February, just as Spring Training was to be sprung upon millions of suspecting baseball fans, we here at "If I Blog It They Will Come" backed the Kansas City Royals as our "official team for the 2007 baseball season, and maybe forever".
Much to our dismay, the KC (Kevin Costner not Kansas City in this instance) magic has yet to rub off on Buddy Bell and his merry band of top prospects and grizzled veterans. Sure the Royals got off to a promising start with a 7-1 drubbing of the AL favorite Red Sox thanks to dynamite pitching from Gil Meche who allowed just 6 hits and 1 earned run, but since then it's been mostly downhill. The Royals have won just 2 of 13 games since and are threatening to sit comfortably on their last place throne in the AL Central for the remainder of the season. So what does this have to do with you?
Well, to put it simply Mr. Costner, we're afraid that without your blessing we may have put a jinx on the Kansas City Royals title chances. The only way they can get out of the slump they're so desperately mired in is for you to spread some of your good fortune and baseball magic their way by endorsing our endorsement of their team by sending in a photo of yourself looking at our blog to djayek@yahoo.com. We implore you Mr. Costner, the title hopes of an entire city are resting on your photographic shoulders. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
The KC Royals fans at "If I Blog It They Will Come"
p.s. Don't forget about our reader's poll...we're ready to "go the distance".
