Go The Distance

Dear Mr. Costner,

We here at "If I Blog It They Will Come" are growing a little more disillusioned by the day. We wonder what it's going to take to for you to take us seriously and finally send a photo of yourself looking at our blog to djayek@yahoo.com. Obviously our boyish charm and razor sharp wit have yet to win you over. Nor have the countless hours we've dedicated to our blogging about your films. Sure posting a three paragraph blog every day seems simple but there's a lot more that goes into it than you think. Apparently, It's going to take some drastic measures on our part to finally achieve our goal and get you to send a photo of you looking at our blog. Just last night one of our principal editors came up with an A1, top notch idea.

What is that idea you ask? A pilgrimage. Here's the deal...it's 1000 miles flat to drive from where we are in New York to Dyersville, Iowa (we looked it up on Google Maps), the home of actual Field of Dreams site. We here at "If I Blog It They Will Come" are willing to prove to you that we are absolutely dedicated to our cause with this little road trip fandango so that you might finally realize that this is no joke and feel compelled to send us a photo of yourself looking at our blog to djayek@yahoo.com. However, we are a little short of cash, so in order to determine if this pilgrimage is actually worth it, we're posting a poll to see if our audience is behind us and that someone actually cares about what we're doing. After all, if a tree falls in the woods and no one's there to hear it, does it make a sound.

Anyway, without further ado, the "If I Blog It They Will Come" readers poll:

Of course Mr. Costner, you could nip the whole trip in the bud by complying with our wishes. However, we know that's easier said thandone. Thanks for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
The Road Trippin' Fanatics at "If I Blog It They Will Come"

fan•dan•go

fan•dan•go (fan dan’ go) n., pl. •gos
(Sp.) 1. a lively Spanish dance in
rhythm varying from slow to quick
¾ time. 2. music for this. 3. a
foolish act.

Dear Mr. Costner,

Hopefully, by now you've taken notice of our little internet operation. Frankly we're a little curious as to what you might think of us. We're aware that trying to get you to
come to our blog and send a photo of yourself doing so to djayek@yahoo.com might be perceived as being one huge fandango along the lines hitching our proverbial car to a train or skydiving with a laundry bag instead of a parachute, except on the internet.

No matter how foolish of an act this may appear to you. We here at "If I Blog It They Will Come" fully intend to go down in the annals of Grooverdom in our quest for "Dom" which in this case is a photo of you looking at our blog.

We're hoping that when all is said and done we can all sit down with a bottle of Shiner Bock and celebrate. Of course we'll need the friendly townspeople to provide the band and catering...not to mention napkins, but it will be a celebration nonetheless.

So, Mr. Costner it is with great respect and reverence that we once again ask you to guide us to our "Dom" and send it to us at djayek@yahoo.com. It will be "one small step for a Groover, one giant leap for weeniekind" (I guess we're the weenies in that metaphor).

To quote your character, Gardner Barnes in
Fandango "Here’s to us, by god. To us and that and privileges of youth. Here’s to us and what we were and what we’ll be."

Sincerely,
The Folks At If I Blog It They Will Come
