Special Report: BP Tabs Kevin Costner to Save Waterworld
We here at "If I Blog It They Will Come" spent a majority of our 2007 praising, laughing with, and sometimes seemingly laughing at the expense of one Kevin Costner, in the hopes that one day he would send a photo of himself looking at our blog. Throughout our interactions and all of the good-natured ribbing, Mr. Costner floored us with a consistent air of boyish charm and an utmost appreciation of what we were doing. When he finally came through by sending us a photo, we were left with the impression that Kevin Costner is probably one of the most honorable human beings working in film today, if not of all-time.
So really, it was no surprise to us when we turned on our favorite Internet news source today to find that the destructive morons at BP needed the help of a good guy like KC to save the Gulf of Mexico from the heaps of oil that has already caused significant damage to the environment.
However, what did surprise us was the fact that our favorite actor/director/musician/environmentalist had just the thing for dealing with the crisis at hand. He had actually created a machine known as 'Ocean Therapy' to not only add the title of "Inventor" to his hyphenate, but for the very purpose of cleaning oil from the sea. Say what?
We know Mr. Costner is no stranger to the role of unlikely hero, but this is a whole different level. If this doesn't cement Kevin Costner as one of the greatest human beings who ever lived, we don't know what will.
Anyway, we here at "If I Blog It, They Will Come" wish Kevin the best of luck in cleaning up BP's mess. We only hope that he can play himself when they make this into an Academy Award-winning film. Waterworld 2 anyone?
