Man of The Year '08

Dear Mr. Robin Williams,

As you may or may not be aware (you're probably aware), Stephen Colbert recently threw his hat into the ring as a candidate for the Presidency in the 2008 election. If this scenario seems eerily familiar it's because it's a near carbon copy of the plot of your 2006 film Man of the Year in which you portrayed Polito-comic TV Host Tom Dobbs. We here at "If I Blog It They Will Come" have no doubt Mr. Colbert was inspired by your performance as the comedian become candidate, proving that you are certainly an actor ahead of his time. We're confident that he will try to emulate your character's no nonsense debate tactics and dispense his own brand of "truthiness" serving as a "formidable opponent" to Barack, Hillary, Mitt, and possibly himself in a different colored tie.

Though Mr. Colbert is certainly a beloved figure , he will undoubtedly learn a hard lesson as your character Tom Dobbs did in the aforementioned film. The people of this great nation might love him as the host from The Colbert Report, but they are less than willing to elect a comedian as their Commander-in-Chief.

If by some far-fetched miracle Mr. Colbert does emerge victorious, you can rest assured that it'll probably be due to a glitch in the voting system that Laura Linney's boss overlooked because he didn't want to see his company's stock plummet and so he immorally stood by the results of a false election, all the while painting Ms. Linney as an unstable drug addict.

Stephen Colbert may be grasping at an impossible dream, but we here at "If I Blog It They Will Come" are vying for something much more attainable. All we really want to be in the running for is a photo of you looking at our blog. If you'd like to throw your hat in the ring for that, all you have to do is send us said photo to djayek@yahoo.com and leave the campaigning to us.

Thank you for your time and consideration. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,
The Politically Active Folks at "If I Blog It They Will Come"

P.S. "If I Blog It They Will Come" fully supports the Colbert '08 campaign as long as his running mate is not a bear.
