Let Freedom Ring

Dear Mr. Robin Williams,

We here at If I Blog It They Will Come would like to send our be-earlied 4th of July wishes to our favorite actor/comedian of all time, Mr. Robin Williams. We know this must be a special day for you. Having played so many great distinctly American characters such as Teddy Roosevelt, Adrian Cronauer, Tom Dobbs, and Jack and given your dedication to the troops, it would make sense that to you Independence Day is more than a landmark summer blockbuster starring Will Smith, Bill Pullman, and Jeff Goldblum where the world wins it's independence from aliens.

Well, Mr. Williams, we're here to tell you that we're on that same page as you. To us Independence Day is more than a chance to free ourselves from potential slaughter at the hands of extra-terrestrial beings in humongous mother ships blotting out sunlight in cities all over the globe that strangely end up being quite tiny once they finally come crashing to earth. On this Independence Day we celebrate our basic freedoms, such as freedom of speech and freedom of expression. Being a prominent standup comedian and actor, we know those are freedoms that you must hold dear. We hold them dear as well, for our freedom to blog is encompassed within both of them. Were the founding fathers alive today, we know they'd be right there with us, supporting our freedom to blog in the hopes that one day you will see fit to reward the exercising of our basic freedoms with a photo of you looking at our blog.

Yes, Mr. Williams this 4th of July we're certain to be seeing fireworks, but the only real fireworks we're anxious to see are those in our inbox at djayek@yahoo.com in the form of the aforementioned photo. If we don't receive it, well, then we guess we're just going to have to continue to exercise our basic freedoms. And that, friend, is what continues to make america great. Well that and the freedom to watch Robin Williams movies and standup routines without fear of censorship. In any case, we wish you a happy 4th of July and look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,
The Patriotic Folks at If I Blog It They Will Come
