The One True Field of Dreams

Dear Mr. Costner,

As you may or may not recall, back on April 17th we here at "If I Blog It They Will Come" vowed to take a pilgrimage to the Field of Dreams in Dyersville, Iowa in order to prove just how serious we were about achieving our goal of getting you to send a photo of yourself looking at our blog to djayek@yahoo.com. However, since making that post we have encountered two chief obstacles for our potential quest. The first obstacle is money. We assumed we would get an outpouring of support measured by the amount people clicking on our google ads which would ultimately provide us enough money for gas, tolls, and a couple of nights at cheap motel rooms that a thousand mile trek would entail. Our current earnings stand at a meager $10.33.

However, We here at "If I Blog it They Will Come" are firm believers in the old adage, "You've gotta spend money to make money", so our google ad earnings aren't what's been holding us back. The real reason we've been stalling on making this historical trek was the fact that we were unsure which Field of Dreams to go to. I'm sure you're well aware of the fact that the movie site had been divided into two separate properties, "The Field of Dreams Movie Site" and the "Left and Center Field of Dreams". We found it quite appalling that we wouldn't be able to take a casual stroll from the spot where Archie Moonlight Graham left his dreams behind to where Shoeless Joe emerged from the corn husks without having to first leave the Field of Dreams and park on someone else's property just to go to the outfield. However, after reading this article in the Des Moines Register, it seems that's no longer an issue.

That's right, the Field of Dreams is united once more. We find it hard to imagine that anything Kevin Costner related could have been such a divisive issue for so long. After all Mr. Costner, if there's one thing people can agree on universally it's that the films of Kevin Costner inspire togetherness. We're just glad the owners of the respective properties finally noticed that. Now the American people can enjoy that wondrous site in it's united glory. One baseball field, next to corn, with liberty and justice for all.
