A 7-Letter Word That Starts With C

Dear Mr. Costner,

We here at "If I Blog It They Will Come" often like to start our work week with a little puzzle action to get our brains in active mode. This Monday morning as we opened up the "Arts" section of The New York Times, folding the paper accordingly, we began our preliminary perusal of our favorite daily crossword. As we scanned through the clues for any obvious answers there was one that caught our attention more than any other...27 Across "Kevin of Field of Dreams". Right then , we here at "If I Blog It They Will Come" knew that we were going to solve that crossword. The answers unfolded in front of us as the 7-letter word for your last name unlocked many other clues. From that we surmised that a 4-letter word for "try out" was TEST and another 4- letter word for "It is so" was TRUE. In no time we were able to determine that "the wife of Marc Antony" was OCTAVIA and not Jennifer Lopez and that "psychiatrists appointments" are called SESSIONS (but we kind of knew that one from experience). It was only a matter of time before the whole dang thing was filled out from 1-across (OLDS) to 67-Down (EDS) and Costner was the key to the whole shebang.

You see Mr. Costner, that puzzle and this blog have a lot in common. To put it simply, we couldn't do either of them without you. Without your name in 27-across that puzzle would've been incomplete the same way this blog is incomplete without a photo of you looking at our blog. We here at "If I Blog It They Will Come" see our completion of the Monday, July 16th puzzle as a harbinger of things to come and are more than optimistic that some day soon we will find that photo resting comfortably in our inbox at djayek@yahoo.com. If it's not to be then at least we have the rest of the week in crossword clues to look forward to. However, we're confident that you'll come through.
