Good Morning Thailand!

Dear Mr. Robin Williams,

We here at If I Blog It, They Will Come are finally branching out, leaving the frigid confines of Brooklyn to take our show on the road. Unfortunately, during our road show we will not be reporting live in our hunt for a photo of the esteemed actor/comedian Robin Williams looking at our blog. We will, however, be exploring the magical land of Thailand. Our first stop will be Bangkok. Aside from making plenty of obvious jokes while covering our privates, we will visit many touristy points of interest including temples, palaces, and of course Bangkok's famous weekend market. Despite the beauty and the wonder of this region, landmarks such as those all pale in comparison to the actual sites we hope to stumble on.

Seeing as Good Morning Vietnam was largely filmed on location in the land where Anna met the King, we hope to blend a bit of film tourism into our itinerary. We'll try to find all of the famous points of interest from your 1987 Oscar-nominated turn as a hilarious Military Radioman.

Maybe we'll happen upon the town square where Adrian Cronauer plays baseball with a melon, or our very own Jimmy Wah's-type paradise and hope that our friend Tuan doesn't blow it up. Either way, we hope the local proprietors keep a picture of you hanging in their establishments and show a sense of pride that such a talented performer has taken a picture at a place he has visited. We can't comprehend why they wouldn't. That's exactly what we would do if we were to have visual evidence of you looking at our blog. We'd show it off for all the world to see. A little reminder that Robin Williams was here and that we're damn proud of that fact.

Unfortuntely, we don't have the power to take a picture of you looking at our establishment. The internet is tricky that way. Only you can class up this place with your superstardom by taking a photo of yourself and sending it to us at djayek@yahoo.com. In any case, we're out of commission for three weeks. So take your time. In the meantime we'll be on the lookout for that cute Thai or Vietnamese girl that Adrian Cronauer fell in love with. We just hope that when we find her, she doesn't reveal herself as a ladyboy...not that there's anything wrong with that.

Alright RW, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. See you in 2009!

Sincerely,
The For Auld Lang Syne Folks at If I Blog It They Will Come

I just found your blog. Funny.

You should put a little timer widget type thing in your sidebar or header that shows how long you've been pursuing the current celebrity. It was kind of a pain going through your archives to find out how long it took you to get Costner to comply and how long you've been waiting on Robin Williams so far.
Good luck!
