We Won't Back Down

Dear Mr. Costner,

You may have noticed that we here at "If I Blog It They Will Come" went dark after our Mr. Brooks review post. Maybe you thought we were "backing down" from our quest of getting you to visit our blog and take a photo of yourself doing so and sending it to us at djayek@yahoo.com. That is not so. We like to take further inspiration from a character in your film The Postman. No, the character in question it's not The Postman, who so admirably held a nation together by delivering old letters...The character in question is Tom Petty, who as far as we can tell played Tom Petty in the movie.

Tom Petty once said, "You can stand me up at the gates of hell, but I won't back down" (sure he also sang a song called "Time To Move On" but we have a selective memory). Mr. Costner, we've seen those gates of hell and to be honest, we weren't impressed. It's nothing compared to our own personal hell of not receiving final acknowledgement of our faithful struggle. After all, we know what's right, we got just one life, in a world that keeps on pushin' us around we will stand our ground.

Hey Kevin...There ain't no easy way out...This blog will stand it's ground until you finally come through. We have faith that you will because hey, "even the losers get lucky sometimes". Thanks for your time and consideration. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
